Prescription & Lenses

At checkout on any optical frame you'll see an "Add prescription" step. Enter your sphere, cylinder, axis, pupillary distance and (if needed) add power. You can also upload a photo of your script — we transcribe it free.

Single vision is included free on every optical frame. Progressive (varifocal) is +€90. Pre-set readers from +1.0 to +3.5 ship as a single frame + lens unit, ready to wear out of the box.

CR-39 organic lenses are standard — lighter than glass, scratch-resistant, with hard-coat and anti-reflective on every optical frame. Mineral G-15 glass is available on select sun frames. Polycarbonate on sport wraparound.

Yes, +€35. It's a clear filter that cuts roughly 30% of high-energy blue light. Recommended if you spend 8+ hours at a screen. Selected at checkout under "Lens treatments".

Five working days from script confirmation. Lenses are ground in our partner lab in Annecy. We never go faster than the curing time — anti-reflective needs 48 hours to set.

Fit & Sizing

Every frame has three numbers in the description: e.g. 50-22-145. Lens width — bridge width — temple length, in millimetres. Take a ruler to a pair you already wear; the numbers are usually printed inside the temple.

30-day try-on. If a frame doesn't sit right, return it free for a refund or exchange. Our fit team can also book a 15-minute video call to help you adjust nose pads and temple curves — included.

Yes — Annecy studio, Saturdays 10—16h, by appointment. We adjust nose pads, temple curves and pad geometry in 15 minutes. Free for life on any Irdae frame.

From temple to temple in a mirror, ear-base to ear-base. 130-138 mm is small, 139-145 mm medium, 146+ large. Our fit guide page has photos and a printable ruler. Or send a face-on photo to contact@irdae.com — we'll measure it for you.

Care & Repair

Cool tap water and a drop of dish soap, then dry with the microfibre cloth in your box. Never paper towels (micro-scratches the coating), never your shirt. Replacement cloths are €5 from accessories.

Mazzucchelli M49 acetate is vegetable-based and rested four weeks before milling — it keeps depth for a decade. Tortoise patterns sometimes warm slightly with sun, which is part of why they age well.

Yes — that's at the core of the atelier. Bent temple, lost screw, scratched lens, snapped hinge: send it back. First year free, after that at cost (typically €20—50). We keep parts for at least 10 years per series.

On most acetate frames, yes — we keep matching temples in inventory for the lifetime of the series. On titanium and limited drops the answer is usually still yes, but we'll quote you per case.

Returns & Warranty

30 days from delivery, free. Unworn frames in their hard case, with the original lens cloth, get a full refund. Prescription frames are 14 days (we clear the lenses first).

Send the frame to the atelier and we fix temples, replace screws, re-rivet hinges, swap pads, polish out scratches. First year is free, then at cost. Replacement parts kept for 10 years per series, minimum.

Engraved frames are personalisations and can't be returned unless there's a manufacturing defect. Non-engraved unworn frames can be returned or exchanged within 30 days.

Two years against manufacturing defects (EU statutory warranty). On top, our lifetime repair service applies to every frame, regardless of warranty status.
